NRA Member Johnny Hoggatt Stands Strong on Second Amendment
As an NRA member, hunter, and outdoorsman, I remain shocked that Republicans like Richard Kosloski would vote to cut back on our Second Amendment rights. I join with Republican City Council President Rusty Walker in his statement “This is nothing more than security theater that erodes both our Second and Fourth Amendment rights. It’s unnecessary, unconstitutional, and creates barriers between citizens and their government.”
The Second Amendment is a fundamental right that protects our freedoms, our families, and our way of life. As a strong supporter of the right to bear arms, I firmly believe that law-abiding citizens should never have to worry about government overreach when it comes to protecting themselves and their loved ones.
Our community deserves leadership that stands up for constitutional rights, and I will always fight to defend the Second Amendment. Responsible gun ownership is not just about personal defense—it’s about preserving the liberties that make this country great.
Measures like the ones co-sponsored by Richard Kosloski create a false sense of security and undermine public trust. Real safety comes from trust and enforcement, not from treating every citizen like a potential threat. Policies like this don’t make us safer—they make us less free.
As your candidate for Ward 7 City Council, I will always support policies that protect and uphold our rights. I ask that those that stand with the US Constitution stand with me, and together, we’ll ensure our voices are heard loud and clear in the April 1st Republican Primary.
