Sheriff Richard Mack Endorses Johnny Hoggatt
Nationally known Sheriff Richard Mack, famous for his role in overturning portions of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act which violated the United States Constitution, endorsed Johnny Hoggatt in Gulfport's Ward 7 Republican primary. The Brady Bill was the brainchild of Bill and Hillary Clinton, but was ruled unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court. Mack, former lobbyist for Gun Owners of America and former NRA leader, cited Hoggatt's NRA membership and opposition to the anti-gun ordinance created and passed by the Gulfport City Council by current Ward 7 Councilman Richard Kosloski as his reasons for endorsing Johnny Hoggatt.
Sheriff Mack stated, "Gulfport Republicans will remember me when I beat Hillary and Bill Clinton at the US Supreme Court on the anti-gun Brady Bill. I’ve been supporting pro-gun candidates ever since.
"And Johnny Hoggatt is the ONLY pro-gun candidate running in tomorrow's Republican primary. Thank goodness Mayor Billy Hewes vetoed the ordinance that three RINO Republicans, Ward 7's Richard Kosloski included, created. Real Republicans would never try to deny you your Second Amendment rights.
"Johnny Hoggatt is an NRA member, outdoorsman, and the only candidate in this race I could ever vote for. I sincerely hope that when you go vote tomorrow in the Gulfport Republican Primary that you remember that every day liberals find some way to cut back your rights, and we need more people who support them. That is conservative Republican Johnny Hoggatt.
"I wholeheartedly endorse Johnny Hoggatt in Gulfport’s Ward 7 Republican primary tomorrow."
